FILLED: PRICING SPECIALIST - NUON - VILVOORDE

I. ORGANISATION

Nuon Belgium N.V. was founded in 2002 at the occasion of the liberalisation of the energy markets. The company supplies gas and power to its retail and business customers and helps them to reduce their energy use. With more than 340.000 customers and 550.000 connection points, Nuon Belgium is the most important challenger on the Belgian energy supply market. The company is located in Vilvoorde and employs about 150 people.

The S&P team is also a key component in the success of our ability to source correctly, to switch and invoice our customers on a timely and accurate basis, by ensuring excellent sales portfolio data management and maintaining relations with external parties. In the liberalized Belgian energy market, different market participants exchange millions of electronic messages covering customer switching,  meter readings, consumption and allocated demand. 

The Sourcing & Pricing department works in close collaboration with the Retail, Business, Regulatory, Operations and Finance departments as well as with the trading organization (i.e. our balance responsible parties and shippers).

II. FUNCTION 

Scope  

Within the department, different utilities, such as electricity, gas,… are being commercialized. Product development, financial reporting, sourcing activities,… are all part of the activities of the Sourcing & Pricing department.

The Sourcing & Pricing department is responsible for the definition and execution of the pricing strategy within Nuon Belgium. Managing the price tactics and margin definition is equally part of the departments’ responsibilities. Given the importance of pricing within our business, dedication and quality work of our colleagues is a key success factor.

The Pricing specialist will report to the Portfolio Desk Manager.

Responsibilities 

  • Definition and calculation of complex pricing deals for largest key accounts
  • Price components quality assurance
  • Revenue assurance of the booking process (from signed to invoiced)
  • Analysis and reporting of ongoing price offers in the sales funnel
  • Analysis, controlling and reporting of signed price offers
  • Offering a solution for the customers’ needs, based on the input of the account manager
  • Development of new price calculation models and improvement of existing models
  • Follow up of products during their product life cycle for both business and residential customers
  • Daily interactions with the trading organization of the headquarter for special deals
  • Close interaction with CRM services for after sales resolutions
  • Close interaction with sales portfolio desk services
  • Follow-up and maintenance of price components (commodity, distribution, transport, taxes)

 III. PROFILE

 Languages, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
  • Good working knowledge of SQL and Ms Access is a significant asset
  • The person has preferentially at least one year experience, within a large-sized company in one of the following areas as well as a basic knowledge/interest in the energy sector: Accounting, Pricing process, Quoting management, Reporting & Controlling
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English

Educational Background

  • The person has an analytical background (e.g. economy, finance, accounting or engineering) and is willing to work in a challenging environment.
  • IT skills are key for effectively executing this role. The successful candidate will above all be able to demonstrate his problem solving skills on a day-to-day basis.
